About me

I'm Laurie Weese, owner of More Than Words Therapy, LLC. I'm a licensed professional counselor, substance abuse counselor, hypnotherapist, and Reiki Master practitioner. I offer a safe/supportive environment to process your thoughts, feelings, and concerns. My approach is client-centered, compassionate, and collaborative. Together, we will use a variety of therapeutic techniques to focus on your inner strengths, abilities, and resources to help you reach your goals. I received my Level 1 and Level 2 hypnosis training, in person, through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, an organization that only trains health professionals with a state license and at least a Masters Degree. I received Level 1-3 Reiki training, in person with Reiki Masters.

I retired from the Air Force in 2007 after 20 years of service then moved to the Shenandoah Valley with my husband and sons. In my spare time I enjoy playing the guitar, reading, cooking/baking, gardening, traveling, and spending time around a bon fire with my family and friends.
